How we make money
We earn a commission on some bookings. It never changes what we recommend.
Hop the Islands is free to use. When you book a ferry, a stay or a transfer through a partner we link to, that partner pays us a commission — at no extra cost to you. You should know that before you trust a single recommendation, so here it is in plain terms.
Where the money comes from
Ferry tickets, hotels and other stays, port transfers and car hire, tours and boat trips, and travel extras like insurance or an eSIM. In every case the price you pay is the same as booking direct — the partner shares part of their margin with us.
What commission never does
It never reorders results. It never changes a connection score, a recommended number of nights, or a risk rating. It never hides a cheaper or better-timed option because someone else pays more. The ranking you see is the ranking we would give a friend.
Why our incentives line up
We only win if the plan actually holds together. A missed connection or a wasted night turns into a refund request, a complaint and a traveller who never comes back. Optimising for trips that work is simply the better business.
What we will not do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not accept paid placement dressed up as a recommendation. And we do not manufacture urgency — no invented countdowns, no fake "only 2 left" scarcity to push you into booking.
If the best option for your trip earns us nothing, it still ranks first.
