This is the short version of the northern Ionian trip: Corfu's old town and airport, then Paxos's quieter coves, without adding Lefkada or Kefalonia into the mix. Five nights split naturally into a few days on each island, enough to see Corfu Town properly and still have time to do nothing in particular on Paxos.
Why this order
Corfu opens the trip because it has the airport, and the crossing to Paxos runs on Kerkyra Seaways several times a day, an hour on the fast boat or under three on the conventional one — reliable enough that a short trip doesn't need a spare day built around it. Ending on Paxos means the last few nights are the quietest, then sailing back to Corfu to fly home. Doing it in reverse, Paxos first and Corfu last, would work almost as well logistically, but it front-loads the trip's quietest island before the busier one, which suits fewer travelers.

Suits travelers with under a week who want one lively stop and one quiet one, without the road transfer that a Lefkada extension would require. The relaxed pace fits people happy to spend most of a day just at a beach.
